Police Testing

Police Testing is an online monitored exam for individuals looking to enter the law enforcement field with an agency who is a member of our Police Testing Alliance.  The exam is comprised of cognitive ability (reading comprehension, grammatical/written competencey, and mathematical reasoning) and personality (interpersonal ability, assertiveness, stress tolerance, team orientation, and ethics/integrity) sections.  The results of your online examination will be provided only to our Police Testing Alliance members as well as yourself.  Please see to see the specific police departments who are current Alliance members.


Registration will be open from May 15th through June 13th, 2022.  Testing will be held online during the week of June 27th. (Specific dates and times during that week are yet to be determined.)


What you'll need for the exam (Please do not register until you know you will be able to meet all these requirements):

  • You will be required to have 2 devices on the day of the test.
    • Mobil Smartphone or tablet.  The GoToMeeting app will be used as the video/audio app for the IOS Test Proctor to monitor and communicate with you during the exam. 
      • Your device must meet the following requirements:
        • iPhone 5 or later running iOS11 - iOS15
        • iPad 3rd gen or later running iOS11 - iOS15
        • Android device running Android OS 5 (Lollipop) - Android 11
    • Desktop or Laptop PC running Windows 7 or later.  The IOS Testing Application will be downloaded to this device in order for you to take the exam.  Apple products or Chromebooks are NOT compatible with the IOS Testing Application.
  • You will be required to download GoToMeeting Application on a mobile device. 
  • You will be required to download the IOS Testing Application on a Desktop or Laptop PC.  (The IOS Testing Application link will be sent once your specific exam date is scheduled.)
  • You must have reliable internet access to complete the exam.

This is an online monitored exam.  Once registration closes on June 13th, you will be contacted by I/O Solutions (our testing company) to schedule your specific day and time for the exam from the options they provide.  (Testing sessions will be scheduled during the week of June 27, 2022.  Specific dates during that week have yet to be determined.)

Non Destructive Testing: Penetrant Testing

Penetrant Testing (PT), used for detecting cracks and other surface defects on nonporous solid materials, is one of the most commonly used non destructive testing methods. This course covers theory and principles as well as procedures and techniques using a range of materials. Applied mathematics will be included. Labs will focus on water-removable penetrants with a variety of developers. Quality control will be stressed. Meets ASNT SNT-TC-1a and NAS-410 Level II training hours requirements.

Non Destructive Testing: Visual Testing

Visual Testing (VT), often the first method used during an NDT inspection, includes direct examination with the eyes as well as the use of mechanical or optical tools to locate discontinuities and potential defects. This course will cover material required for the classroom training portion for level 1 and 2 certification of NDT personnel in the visual testing methods and will cover ASNT SNT- TC-1a requirements and the AWS B5.1 requirements (required for Visual Weld Inspectors)

Microsoft Excel - Macros, Pivot Tables & Logical Functions
